Cloth Diapering Basics
Cloth Diapers Explained
Modern cloth diapers are meant to replace the chemical ridden disposable plastic diapers (Pampers/Huggies/Libero... etc etc) with an environment friendly, washable and reusable, re-sizeable option. It offers the same features, such as keeping the baby dry, and holding multiple rounds of baby pee, but, without the harmful effects (diaper rashes, chemicals near baby skin, non degredable landfills etc etc)... Within a short time, they become much more pocket friendly too.... And the cute prints on baby bums.. well that's just an added bonus...

Pocket Cloth Diapers - A pocket style diaper has a pocket opening between the outer waterproof shell (or cover) and the inner layer that touches baby’s skin. You can place the absorbent material (insert) inside this pocket opening. The pocket style diapers are the most popular style of cloth diapers and don’t require any additional covers. All our pocket diapers are re-sizeable (using snap buttons) and work for babies with weight between 4 Kgs to 15Kgs.
Within pocket diapers, the inner (baby skin touching) layer comes in different cloth varieties: Microsuede, Charcoal Bamboo, Microfleece, Bamboo. See the table below to understand the pros-cons of each
All our Pocket Diapers come bundled with one 3 layer Microfiber insert (more on inserts below). If you wish to buy without insert, or if you want to replace microfiber insert with another type, talk to us (call/email/whatsapp/fb message).
All In Ones (AIOs)- AIO diapers are a one piece diaper that consist of a set of absorbency layers (one or two) that are sewn inside of an outer waterproof cover. They are convenient for quick changes, and have a pocket as well to put in an extra insert. When used with an extra insert, AIOs work longer than normal pockets. For e.g. when used with Hemp inserts (more on inserts below), they can easily run the night (8-9 hours).
All our AIOs come with a Charcoal Bamboo inner lining.
Inserts - Inserts are designed to be stuffed into pocket diapers, or AIOs. They are usually rectangular, and are made of highly absorbent material. Following are the different kinds of inserts available with us:
- Microfiber – This material absorbs liquids fast. It’s cheap and does a great job as a cloth diaper insert, which is why is the largest selling one. Its also the fastest to dry (after wash) amongs all insert types.
- Charcoal Bamboo – This material is more absorbent than microfiber, and is naturally anti-microbial.
- Hemp – The best of all inserts, made of natural fibres, hemp will hold about 2.5x the amount of a microfiber insert comparable in size and is very thin, and so even two hemp inserts may be used in one pocket diaper to make it work longer.
Training Pants - Resizable training pants with bamboo terry inner and bamboo terry inset. Pull up style. As against diapers, training pants dont give the complete stay dry feeling and are meant to toilet train your little one. Can hold upto 2 pee before they need a change.
Wet Bags - Made of water-proof material, these are great for storing soiled diapers, while you wait for the next laundary cycle. They have an easy zip function and keep the smell of soiled diapers away. A must-have for parents using cloth diapers while travelling.
35*40 cm size. Stores 5-6 diapers.
